Rookie cards have three levels, all of which are numbered. The most plentiful are basic cards numbered to 799. Level 2 are autographed and numbered to 399. Level 3 rookies have an inscription accompanying a signature and are numbered to 49. Boxes have one autographed rookie. Collectors should also find at least a couple of numbered rookie cards as well.
Outside of the rookies, 2014-15 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey has three additional autograph inserts. Signature Pucks use a puck-like surface for the signing area. Cards come with team logos, retro logos and the NHL Shield. Ice Scripts are also back.
Tryptich Signatures are part of a new insert set. Players have three different cards that can go together to make for a bigger display piece. Autographs are one level. The other two use memorabilia swatches.
Crystal inserts return at a rate of one per hobby box. Made with plexiglass, they're another distinct element in Trilogy. Crystal Premieres center on rookies while basic Crystal cards have veterans.
The 2014-15 Upper Deck Trilogy base set has 100 cards. Each has three parallels: Rainbow Blue (numbered to a player's career stat), Rainbow Red (numbered to a 2013-14 stat) and Rainbow Black (#/3).
