The 2015 Fall Expo is less than two months away, but Upper Deck is already busy with their plans to create one of their most exciting redemption programs ever to coincide with the release of 2015-16 Upper Deck Series One. The first product where collectors will be able to find Young Guns rookie cards of Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, and many others will release on November 6 and it factors heavily into their plans.

Collectors attending the 2015 Fall Expo at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario from November 6 to 8 will be able to participate in a revamped redemption program where they will receive special packs for opening certain Upper Deck hockey products. While the official list of eligible releases is expected soon, the company did reveal that each two card pack will contain one of 200 different 2015-16 Upper Deck Midnight parallel cards that are numbered to 25 copies each and the second card in the pack will either be another Midnight parallel, a limited Victory Black rookie card, a Parkhurst Priority Signings cards limited to 75 copies or less, or an instant redemption card good for an autographed Upper Deck Authenticated memorabilia piece.

The promotion is expected to last all weekend while supplies last.

Case breakers at the 2015 Fall Expo will be able to crack open premium products in exchange for some extremely limited cards and UDA pieces. While 2015-16 Upper Deck Series One is not eligible, those breaking cases of that hotly-anticipated release will receive something for their effort which will be revealed soon.

As expected, Upper Deck will also hold bubble hockey tournaments and its ever-popular Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt in addition to free and expired redemption raffles. The company is also the sponsor of Kids Day at the show and youth aged 6 to 12 can come in for free with an adult. They will also get a voucher to bring to Upper Deck’s booth to exchange for a card.

In the days leading up to the Expo, Upper Deck staff members will be visiting trading card shops in Edmonton from November 3 to 5 in order to help create buzz for the release of 2015-16 Upper Deck Series One. More details on these events are expected in the coming weeks.

With only a few days left until the 2015 Fall Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo in Toronto, Upper Deck has released final details about its checklist for its redemption program held exclusively at the show from November 6 to 8. Collectors that come to the company’s corporate booth to break open specific boxes of 2015-16 NHL trading cards will receive a two-card Upper Deck Fall Expo promotional pack which is set to contain limited parallels, autographs, and more.

As a bonus, the first 300 collectors in line and breaking boxes each day will also receive one of six different limited Connor McDavid NHLPA Rookie Showcase Moments cards. There will also be a program specific to case breakers.



In order to get an Upper Deck Fall Expo promotional pack, collectors must purchase a box or a 2015-16 product such as O-Pee-Chee, Team Canada World Juniors, Artifacts, Upper Deck Series One or a pack of 2015-16 UD Buybacks from a certified Diamond Dealer at the show. They can then bring a voucher they receive and the sealed box to the Upper Deck booth in the corporate are to receive their pack. As a change of pace, Upper Deck will keep the redemption program open all day while supplies last as it has traditionally offered redemption cards during specific times in the past.

The Upper Deck Fall Expo promotional pack will contain at least one UD Midnight parallel card which covers the 200 cards that make up this year’s 2015-16 Upper Deck Series One shell set. Limited to 25 copies each, the checklist features many big names and fan favorites.

If that was not enough to chase, there will be some freshman content to potentially pull from the Upper Deck Fall Expo promotional pack. The Victory Black Rookie Card set is made up of 16 players that made their NHL debuts after last season’s rookie deadline and are numbered to 125 copies. Among the future stars included are Sam Bennett, Malcolm Subban, and Kevin Fiala.

The big draw for those cracking open an Upper Deck Fall Expo promotional pack are the Parkhurst Priority Signings. Seeing the Parkhurst name return for this program is a bonus, but there are 75 copies or less of each produced. Some of the more limited autographs include Shea Weber, Rick Nash, Jamie Benn, and Aaron Ekblad.

Those collectors choosing to break a case at the show will have a greater shot at big-name autos in addition to additional bonuses. By cracking a sealed hobby case of 2014-15 NHL products that include SP Game-Used, O-Pee-Chee Platinum (regular or jumbo), ICE, Masterpieces, SP Authentic, or Premier; they can receive four promotional packs, the complete Connor McDavid Rookie Showcase Moments set, a bonus item that could be a limited edition card or memorabilia piece, and a Connor McDavid/Wayne Gretzky SP3 card that is only available by breaking cases at the Expo. If a collector chooses to break a 2015-16 Upper Deck Team Canada Master Collection box or a case of 2015 Upper Deck Ultimate, their redemptions are doubled.

It should be specifically stated that Upper Deck does reserve the right to limit the redemption cards based on what is available and that all of their promotions at the Expo are limited to one per person, per day.

Jak upozornil někdo na cardboardconnection.com, je zajímavé, že pokud je ten checklist správný (jakože přišel přímo z Upper Decku), tak je tam pár rozdílů oproti finální verzi Upper Deck Series 1. Nejzásadnější je asi karta č. 44, kde v UD1 je Toews a zde na Midnight verzi Kane. Celkem určitě ho z UD1 stáhli kvůli tomu soudu, ale je otázka, jestli změnili i Midnight verzi (a je špatně tento checklist), nebo na Midnight vyjde (a pak řadovka bude Toews a Midnight paralelka Kane).
