The heart of 2021-22 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey remains the same. It’s primarily a chrome makeover of the season’s standard OPC release. That said, it’s changing up the configuration with more cards per pack but fewer packs per box. Overall, though, hobby boxes have significantly more total cards than in the past.
2021-22 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey Checklist Overview
Hobby boxes aren’t the only thing that’s bigger this year. The base set has 300 cards, up from 200. Getting more specific, there are 200 veterans and 100 Marquee Rookies, going deep into the season’s crop of first-year players.
At the hobby level, there are a dozen parallels. For these, Upper Deck continues to go beyond basic colors for many of them. Every standard printing patterns give way to photo-based backdrops. Taken as a whole, these highlight different natural phenomenon from various parts of the world.

The new configuration means more parallels per hobby box. Rainbow, Sunset and Matte Pink combine to land 11 per box. Five additional serial-numbered parallels are also in each box.
On top of the standard parallels, there are Retro Variations that change up the design. These average out to every other hobby pack. Retro parallels include Rainbow (1:12), Blue Rainbow (/149), Purple Houndstooth (/15) and Golden Treasures (1/1). Select cards also have autographs (Veterans – 1:192, Rookies – 1:384).
Autographs and Other Inserts
Every 2021-22 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey hobby box has one autograph.
The majority of these are Rookie Autos and come with on-card ink. Parallels come in:
