Checklist
Leaf is no stranger to premium products. For hockey, that’s their primary focus. However, 2020-21 Leaf Pearl Hockey takes that idea to an extreme. If other sets are high-end, Pearl is luxury.
Every card on the checklist takes a super-premium approach with either big-name autographs, multiple signatures or swatches or memorabilia cards rarely seen in the hobby.
Each hobby box has 11 cards, virtually all numbered to 10 or less.
2020-21 Leaf Pearl Hockey Checklist Overview
Before delving into the autographs and memorabilia cards, 2020-21 Leaf Pearl Hockey does have a base set. Featuring 39 cards, each has two players on the front and a pair of pearls embedded in them. Each is numbered to 10 and has six levels of parallels with seven copies or less.

The focus for the base set is on the past, but that covers several generations. Players range from the sport’s earliest stars through to recent superstars and Hall of Famers.
Most of the autograph cards in 2020-21 Leaf Pearl Hockey have multiple players. This means anywhere from two all the way up to 16 different signatures.

Although hockey is the primary focus, some of these insert themes also incorporate athletes from other sports. For example, each Signatures Decades card has four signatures. One’s a hockey player while the other three come from stars of the same timeframe in other areas of sports.

Cut signatures reach out even further. Sports, entertainment, politics all come together on the 152-card checklist.

Many memorabilia cards take a similar multi-player approach. Old Time Hockey and Pearls of History 4 have six and four players respectively.

Then there’s Magnum Opus. These cards might represent just two players, however these one-of-ones do so with a pair of NHL Shields.

Pearlescent Patches highlights jumbo swatches.

For Letter or Lace, the memorabilia is either a letter patch or the laces from a jersey front.

Buckles are integrated into cards for Pearls of History. These pieces come from either goalie pads or fight straps.

In addition to standard hobby boxes, Leaf produced a total of 125 2020-21 Leaf Pearl Hockey Black boxes. Sold on their website, each has a one-of-one card.
