Usually, O-Pee-Chee cards are all about nostalgia and recreating that old-time hockey card look and feel. Except when it’s O-Pee-Chee Platinum. Then it’s all about the shine and the color. 2017-18 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey continues with the brand’s chromium flair.
That means vivid rainbows that aren’t only limited to colors but patterns as well. It also means an on-card autograph in every box.
BASE SET
For its main set, 2017-18 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey has 200 total cards. The first 150 are NHL veterans. The Marquee Rookies subset makes up the remaining 50 cards.
From a set-building perspective, this is much smaller than the 600 cards in the main 2017-18 O-Pee-Chee Hockey set. But Platinum comes at things from a different angle by design. It’s a little more high-end and has more bells and whistles.
Among those are the parallels. All 200 cards have eight different levels. Refractor-like Rainbow cards are the most common at 1:5 hobby packs. Violet Pixels are 1:10 packs or two per box. From there, additional parallels are numbered: Red Prism (/199), Royal Blue Cubes (/99), Seismic Gold (/50), hobby-exclusive Orange Checkers (/25), Emerald Surge (/10) and one-of-one Golden Treasures.
Numbered parallels combine to land two per hobby box.
ROOKIE AUTOGRAPHS
Leading the signed content in 2017-18 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey are Rookie Autographs. Base versions, which have a similar design to the main set, fall 1:36 hobby packs. Also like the base set is the rainbow. Parallels come in Rainbow (1:180), Violet Pixels (1:1,500), Red Prism (/50), Seismic Gold (/25), Orange Checkers (/15), Emerald Surge (/10) and Golden Treasures (1/1). Rookie Autographs Orange Checkers are hobby-only.
All autographs in 2017-18 O-Pee-Chee Platinum come hard-signed and without stickers.
INSERTS
2017-18 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey has its own Retro inserts. However, this time around, the design is different from the on in 2017-18 OPC. Base Retro cards are 1:4 packs while Rainbow parallels are one per hobby box. Other parallels include Blue Rainbow (/149), Green Rainbow (/49) and Golden Treasures (1/1). Red Autographs are available for both veterans (1:300) and Rookies (1:150).
The product has a trio of additional inserts: Platinum Records (1:15), Destined for Glory (1:22) and In Action (1:27). Select players in all three have tough autographed versions.

trošku mě mrzí, že inserty tentokrát nejsou v die-cut provedení, ale třeba budou naživo fajn 
poprvé v cl chybí Nuge, hlavně že tam je Strome nebo Klefbom...no aspoň se můžu v klidu soustředit na dosbírání duh ze ročníků 2014-15 a 2015-16 a vzhledem k letošním Nugeovým výkonům doufat, že příští rok tuhle chybu UD nezopakuje
