2016-17 Upper Deck Tim Hortons Hockey Cards

After the success of last year’s set, it shouldn’t be a shock that 2016-17 Upper Deck Tim Hortons Hockey cards are on the way. The Canadian coffee king teased as much in an email sent to customers, highlighting a lot of what collectors can expect when the set arrives Wednesday, September 21.

While the main purpose of the email was to get people to register for the Collect to Win digital trading card portion of the promotion, some details on the physical set were also highlighted.

The in-restaurant promotion is scheduled to last just over a month, starting September 21 and ending November 2. That said, cards are available while supplies last. Last year, many restaurants sold out faster than expected. It looks like cards are only being sold in Canadian restaurants.

The base set design looks to build off of 2015-16 Upper Deck Tim Hortons. It’s once again in foil with plenty of lines and shine.

Each 2016-17 Tim Hortons Hockey card pack comes with three cards. Each costs $1.00 with a qualifying drink purchase or $1.99 without.

Autographs and jersey cards are can be found, although they are considered prizes and must be redeemed. Sidney Crosby is featured on a signed NHL Icon card. Just 87 exist and they’re inserted 1:107,761 packs. He’s joined by fellow Tim Hortons spokesman, Nathan MacKinnon, who has an autographed Timbits card. A total of 100 of these are available, each landing 1:93,752 packs.

• Autographs – 1,302 made (1:7,200)
• Jersey Relic Cards – 5,208 made (1:1,800)
• Autographed Jersey Cards – 150 made (1:62,501)

In case you’re curious about how popular the 2016-17 Upper Deck Tim Hortons Hockey promotion is expected to be, at least 9,375,200 packs have been made. That’s enough for about 1:4 Canadians to open one.
