2019-20 Upper Deck Allure Hockey cards might be making their debut as a brand, but the overarching theme isn’t new to the hobby — or even the sport. It’s a new chromium set that features shine at just about every turn along with ample color, autographs, memorabilia cards and other inserts to fill out the checklist.
2019-20 Upper Deck Allure Hockey Base Set Basics
With 100 cards, the base set isn’t a big one. It highlights a mix of top veteran stars and members of the year’s rookie class.

In an approach similar to recent O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey releases, parallels make up not just a color rainbow, but one that has several different patterns as well. These include White Rainbow (1:3 packs), Red Rainbow (1:6), Pewter (1:80), Orange Slice (/199), Green Quartz (/99), Steel (/50), Blue Line (/25), Purple Diamond (/10), Printing Plates (1/1) and Golden Treasure (1/1).

In addition to the main 100 cards, there are additional high number short prints that come in two levels of rarity. Numbers 101-100 are 1:20 packs while 111-135 are 1:8. High number parallels are limited to Pink Diamond (#101-110 – 1:40, #111-135 – 1:16) and Purple Diamond (/10).
Parallels combine to land five per hobby box.
Hobby boxes also promise one autograph. These start with signature versions of the base set: Red Rainbow (Veterans – 1:80, Rookies /349 or /249), Blue Line Auto Jersey (Veterans /35, Rookies /99), Purple Diamond Auto Patch (/10) and Gold Treasure Auto Tag (1/1).

Select high numbers have Pink Diamond (/59), Purple Diamond (/10) and Golden Treasure (1/1) Autographs.

Memorabilia cards are at least one per hobby box. Red Rainbow Jersey parallels lead the way. Veterans are 1:25 packs while rookies are 1:16.
Inserts
2019-20 Upper Deck Allure Hockey has several additional inserts on its checklist.
Top 50 Prospects are the most common, falling every other hobby pack. Green Border (/50) parallels are joined by Jersey (1:16), Blue Auto (1:45), Autograph Jersey (/25), Patch (/5) and Auto Tag (1/1) versions.

Iced Out inserts land every other box (1:16). Red Diamond Autographs and Golden Treasure Autographs (1/1) are much tougher.

Winter Storm Warning (1:10) cards look to the weather map for its inspiration. Purple (/10) parallels are joined by Golden Treasure Autographs (1/1).

Open Ice (1:20) and For the Record (1:40) inserts both have Purple (/10) and Golden Treasure (1/1) parallels.
Rounding out the set are some of the toughest cards in the product, die-cut Allure Quartz Autographs. Tier 1 cards are 1:300 packs while Tier 2 are 1:1,500. Blue parallels have five copies.
