022-23 O-Pee-Chee Hockey remains a destination for set builders. Among its inserts this year, though, a name synonymous with the brand — Premier. Balancing both the new- and old-school, collectors will find modern print technology in some spots on the checklist and vintage vibes in others.
This isn’t a place for traditional hits, though, as far as autographs and memorabilia cards go. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other chase inserts.
2022-23 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Checklist Overview
The base set is a big one, consisting of 600 total cards. Of those, the first 500 make up the standard shell set. The final 100 cards, which are a mix of Marquee Rookies and All-Stars, make up the high series. These combine to land one per pack.
Parallels come in several levels, some returning and some new. These include Blue Border (1:3 packs), Red Border (1:18 packs), Neon Pink Border (/75) and Printing Plates (1/1). Neon Pink and Printing Plates are all hobby exclusives.
Marquee Rookies and All-Stars have some additional parallels in hobby packs:

Retro versions are also back, featuring a throwback-inspired design. Base versions are one per pack with additional Black (/100) and Printing Plate (1/1) versions also available.
Inserts
When O-Pee-Chee Premier made its debut in 1990-91, it was one of hockey’s first premium lines. In 2022-23 O-Pee-Chee Hockey, it’s an insert set. Both rookies and veterans are featured. Regular versions are 1:4 packs. Diamond Rainbow Foilboard versions are numbered to 100 and only available in hobby packs.
Three other insert sets are all hobby-exclusives as well.
3-D Marquee Rookies (1:864 packs) are back, giving first-year players the lenticular treatment.
Collectors have another opportunity to build a deck of O-Pee-Chee Playing cards. No matter the suit, numbers 2-10 are 1:6 packs. Jacks, Queens and Kings are 1:34 packs while Aces are 1:102. Jokers round out the deck, landing 1:203 packs.
OPC Patches have been a staple in O-Pee-Chee Hockey for several years. They’re back with another batch of manufactured patches. Themes include a variety of NHL trophies and awards, the Hall of Fame logo and other logos.
Top Rookie Puzzle Bounty
2022-23 O-Pee-Chee Hockey has a Bounty program attached to it. Those who complete the nine-card puzzle can receive exclusives not available in packs.
All of those who complete it get a Top Rookie Bounty Award card. In addition to these are 100 Black Border parallels and 25 autographs.
