– Four game-used stick cards
Releasing just in time to be part of a redemption program at the Fall 2017 Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo, 2017-18 Leaf Lumber Kings gives hockey collectors some of the most desirable and attractive memorabilia pieces that draw from throughout the game’s vast and rich history.
Beckett Hockey was given an early look at what to expect to find within boxes and with four game-used stick cards inside, the odds of pulling something strong are high in such a limited release. With some concepts returning from last year and a few more making their debut, Lumber Kings is a fine companion to the Stick Works product that Leaf also produces.
New for 2017-18 Leaf Lumber Kings is the intriguing Family Sticks Together that pairs up related players from throughout hockey history like the Richard brothers, Maurice and Henri, or the Dryden brothers, Dave and Ken. The puns keep coming with Fantastick 4 and there are a quartet of game-used stick pieces tied around a common theme. Lumber Team Captains is a debuting six-piece card which pairs up half a dozen players that wore the “C” for a particular team.
This year’s 500 Goal Club set has a sharp design and a checklist loaded with legends while Triple Blade has three pieces from where the stick hits the puck. Legendary Lumber Team is bound to get some positive reaction from those pulling one of the cards as there are eight pieces of game-used sticks embedded into them. Original Sticks Six has a neat concept as it combines a sextet of players from one of the NHL’s classic franchises.
Big pieces of sticks are also a given in a product of this nature. Leaf delivers both Game-Used Lumber and a Game-Used Goalie Lumber options which feature substantial hunks from the tools of the trade. Finally, we come to Nameplates, which are truly unique cards as they offer up pieces of a stick where the player’s name was stamped.
If stick pieces are not enough, how about adding in an autograph as well? 2017-18 Leaf Lumber Kings delivers that with Twig Sigs and the all-new Double Twig Sigs that have two signatures and two hunks of sticks from different players.
